Why U of I

I felt an instant connection and sense of community at Illinois and the Lincoln Scholarship makes it possible for me to pursue my dream of working in public interest. From the minute I arrived at Illinois, I felt comfortable. Students, faculty, and staff are down-to-earth and supportive

Work Hard

Favorite classes include Criminal Law and Procedure with Professor Jacqueline Ross and Property Law with Professor Cheryl Meier. "I had four women professors in my first year. They were great role models." Study hangout: Border's Bookstore and studying with a group in an empty classroom

Play Hard

Being outdoors, skiing, hiking, riding horses. Played softball at Grinnell and play in law school softball league. Love to go to movies and hang out with friends

Involvement

Co-founded Coalition of Law Students for Social Change, an outlet for pursuing social justice activities; Vice President, Student Bar Association, Women's Law Society

Looking Ahead

Advancing dialogue about race relations and affecting people's lives through non-profit public interest organizations
