Life Prep

Served four years on active duty as an officer and a federal agent in the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations, conducting felony criminal investigations. At her last assignment in Germany, she served as a counterintelligence analyst specializing in Turkey and the Levant region, and she strategized and directed the counterintelligence activities of over 180 federal agents in Europe and Africa. Volunteered for two months with her husband at an indigenous Bible college and children's home in remote Southeast India, and helped distribute humanitarian aid to villages that suffered from the 2004 tsunami.

Why U of I

Students think outside of themselves and look out for one another, and the remarkably gifted faculty always have their doors open to share their wisdom on both the law and life.

Favorite Professors

Professor Andy Leipold for Criminal Law and Professor Bruce Smith for History of Anglo-American Criminal Procedure.

Play Hard

An avid runner and musician, Nana has played the piano since she was 5 years old, carting her trusty Chickering piano around the world. Enjoys classical piano, especially the intense pieces composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff to relieve stress. Enjoys studying in the Law School Library, Café Kopi and Pages for All Ages bookstore.

Looking Ahead

Would like to practice litigation with a large law firm in Los Angeles for several years before moving to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
