Lynn and Dan Murray provide "Brilliant Futures" Gift of Impact

Lynn and Daniel Murray have generously included the College of Law in their estate plans in addition to their leadership support of the Law School Annual Fund as their commitment to the Brilliant Futures Campaign.  In their funding agreement, the Murrays have designated a percentage of their estate as an unrestricted gift, to the College of Law. The College of Law has been the fortunate beneficiary of Lynn’s time, talent and treasure for several years as she has served on the College of Law Board of Visitors since 2003.  Lynn received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the College in 2003 and she was the inaugural Annual Fund Co-Chair with Greg Read ’67 in 2005 and 2006.

In recognition of their leadership and loyalty, university and campus wide, Lynn and Dan are members of the Centuria Circle of the Presidents Council and the Bronze Level of the Chancellors Circle. As a result of naming the College in their estate plans, they are also members of the College of Law Harno Society.

Lynn and Dan have five children including their high school aged triplets John, Emma, and Kate, and their younger twins Peter Thomas and Helen Rose.  Despite the demands of their very active family, Lynn and Dan make it a priority to give back to the community. Lynn completed her BS with high honors in Economics at the University of Illinois in 1982 and her JD, magna cum laude, at the University of Illinois College of Law in 1985.  Lynn is a member of the  Executive Committee at Grippo & Elden PC in Chicago and the former Managing Principal of the firm.  Lynn's practice encompasses a wide variety of commercial litigation, with a special emphasis on intellectual property, insurance and antitrust disputes.

Lynn has been profiled in the Chicago Lawyer (“Women Rise to Top Leadership at Three Chicago Firms”). She was voted a “Business Litigation Super Lawyer” in Chicago Magazine’s 2005-2007 editions, and as one of the “Top 50 Woman Attorneys in Illinois” in 2005 and 2007. Leading Lawyers Network identified her as one of the Top Woman Lawyers in Illinois. Dan completed his undergraduate studies at University of Michigan in 1980, his JD at the University of Michigan Law School in 1983 and a BS in Chemical Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago in 1993.  Dan manages family demands as a stay-at-home dad.
