Most volumes are for library use only. The following types of materials do not circulate:
- periodicals, bound and unbound
- reporters
- statutes and codes
- looseleaf services
- alcove and low stacks materials (reference items, digests, indices, Illinois alcove items)
- government documents in serial form
- treatises of three volumes or more
- microforms
- all other materials labeled "Do not circulate"
- unclassified foreign books beginning with the following call numbers:
CM (unclassified European Union), Foreign Bib. and Foreign Dictionary.
Law Faculty and their research assistants may ask a reference librarian
for special permission to check out material that is non-circulating.
