Other Volunteer Opportunities

Admitted Student Ambassador

Volunteer your time to welcome admitted students to the College of Law community. During the spring of each year, the College of Law Office of Admissions is busy reviewing applications, admitting students, and hosting events to help admitted students learn more about the College of Law and why it is such a special place to study the law. Admitted Student Ambassadors assist that process by answering questions about the College of Law and helping admitted students better understand where an Illinois Law degree can take them. Contact the Office of Admissions to learn more and volunteer.

Moot Court and ABA Competitions

Each year, the College of Law regularly seeks alumni to volunteer as judges of moot court and other student competitions during the evenings. Judges may receive CLE credit for participating. Please contact The Anderson Center Competitions Director, Deanna Shumard, to be included on the list of potential judges.

Guest Speaker/Lecturer

Our student organizations often host guest speakers or panel discussions, and they are always pleased to welcome alumni to participate in these events. Contact the Office of Advancement if you have availability to serve in this capacity.

Illinois Connection

The University of Illinois Alumni Association’s Illinois Connection program is a grass-roots advocacy network for the University of Illinois. UIAA encourages alumni to join Illinois Connection to stay up to date about state and federal policy issues affecting the University. You can find more information and sign up at the Illinois Connection website.

Law Alumni Board

The Law Alumni Board accepts applications year-round. Applications are due on March 31 of each year for terms beginning July 1 of the same year. This board meets quarterly and provides advice and input to the College regarding alumni engagement. Learn more.
