Vita

Professor Fleischer, who specializes in tax, non-profit law, and charitable giving, joined the Illinois law faculty in 2007. Previously, she was an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado and an Acting Assistant Professor at NYU (where she served as assistant editor of the Tax Law Review). Before entering academia, Professor Fleischer was an associate in the estate planning and exempt-organizations groups at Shaw Pittman in Washington, D.C., and a litigator at the Institute for Justice, a Washington, D.C.-based public interest group. Working at the Institute for Justice, which is a non-profit, piqued her interest in the non-profit world and charitable giving. She also clerked for Judge Morris Sheppard Arnold on the Eighth Circuit. Her research focuses on the estate tax, charitable giving, and non-profits.
