Professor Laura A. Hastings joined the University of Illinois' Department of Political Science in fall 2007 as adjunct professor. She received her PhD in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MA in international relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and an AB in Russian and Soviet Studies from Harvard College. She has been assistant professor at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, Associate Dean of its College of General Studies, and adjunct professor in the Department of Social and Decision Sciences and Associate Director of the International Relations program at Carnegie Mellon University. Her teaching interests span topics in International Political Economy.
