We have recently installed keyless entry locks on the external doors to the Law Building.
The east (6th Street), north (Peabody Drive) and south (Pennsylvania Avenue) entrances have
all been switched over to this system. As these doors are switched over to the new system,
the doors can only be unlocked by swiping your i-Card on the nearby card-reader mechanism mounted
on the exterior wall within a few feet of the door. As in the past, these doors will be on a
regular schedule for locking and unlocking so you will not need to have your i-Card to use
these doors during normal business hours (see below).
If you do not have an i-Card, you will need to get one if you need access to the Law Building
outside of normal business hours. Once you have an i-Card, you should notify
Debby Fletcher (fletchr2@law.uiuc.edu) so that she can
activate your card in the system. Please also contact her if you should have any problems
with access to the Law Building.
These date/times are for the main doors located on Pennsylvania Avenue.

- May 1-10: 7:00 A.M. - 12:00 A.M.
- May 11: 7:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M.
- May 12-13: 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Please note that outside door keys (OS) no longer work on these doors. OS keys should be returned
to Joetta Morgan in the Dean's Suite at your earliest convenience.
Classroom doors will also be switched over to this new system. Classroom master keys (MST) no
longer work for these doors and should also be returned at your earliest convenience.
