Marianne Downey is the Director of Advancement. She leads the Law School Annual Fund as well as focusing on major gift development in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. In addition to securing philanthropic support to enhance the law school's mission, Marianne regularly assists alumni with networking, recruiting, and alumni relations opportunities. Prior to working in the Development & Alumni Relations Office at the College of Law, Marianne worked as the Director of Institutional Advancement at Cathedral High School, a private preparatory school in Indianapolis, IN., as the Director of Development for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Catholic Social Services and as the Midwest Regional Sales Manager for two consumer products companies. Marianne is a M.A. Candidate in Education Leadership at the University of Illinois and previously earned her B.S. in Business/Marketing, at Indiana University. She's earned a Certificate in Fundraising Management at Indiana University Center on Philanthropy and has been a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 1998. She is currently the board president for the East Central Illinois Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Marianne resides in Urbana with her husband Tyler and her stepdaughters Shelby and Elizabeth.
