"Rules of Venture Capital Investment"
Dr. Weitnauer heads the multi-dimensional German firm Weitnauer with
offices in Munich, Berlin, and Heidelberg and is Distinguished Alumni Award
recipient and a member of the College's Board of Visitors. He received his
education from the Universities of Heidelberg, Lausanne/Switzerland and Freiburg
and the University of Illinois College of Law (M.C.L., 1979). Dr. jur., Freiburg, 1980.
He served as an Assistant to College of Law Dean Peter Hay in 1978-1979, and Prof.
Dr. Hans Stoll, Institute for International Private Law and Comparative Law,
University of Freiburg, 1979-1982.
Dr. Weitnauer has written several publications in the field including Venture
Capital Manual, Standard forms e-commerce, and Management Buy Out Manual. He also
has publications to his credit in fields such as Capital Markets Law, Private Equity,
and Corporate Law and serves as the Co-Editor of the Journal for Banking and Capital Market Law (BKR).
Dr. Weitnauer practices Corporate and Commercial Law, Corporate Restructuring, Mergers and Acquisitions,
and Corporate Finance. He also enthusiastically serves as the President of the Friends of the University of Illinois College of Law, European Alumni Association.
