The
Office operates an active on-campus interviewing program,
which draws scores of employers from around the country. In addition,
hundreds of private and public sector employers request our students'
resumes. Students also find employment opportunities through the
College's participation in several off-campus interview programs
in cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, and
Washington, D.C. The College of Law is likewise involved with
various consortia for students interested in specific practice areas
like intellectual property and public interest law.
Whether you are participating in a videotaped mock interview,
attending a resumé workshop, or learning more about opportunities
in public interest law, the Career Services Office is with you every
step of the way.
The Office offers one of the most comprehensive calendars of
events in the country, sponsoring more than 50 career-related
programs annually. These innovative programs — often featuring
critically acclaimed speakers like Lisa Abrams, author of The Official Guide
to Legal Specialties: An Insider's Guide to Every Major Practice Area,
and Kimm Walton, author of Guerrilla Tactics for Getting the Legal
Job of Your Dreams — contribute to the Office's long-standing success.
The Office of Career Planning & Professional Development, in
cooperation with several of our
outstanding College alumni, is presenting a series of monthly programs
in which students can learn about the legal markets of various cities
throughout the nation. Students can take advantage of this opportunity
to hear from Illinois alumni in these communities and to ask candid
questions about work opportunities and life experiences in the following
different cities of the United States:
