Transcripts and certifications can be obtained from the University of Illinois, Admissions and
Records Office on the Urbana-Champaign campus. A transcript includes a student's courses,
grades, GPA and degree. A certification shows dates of enrollment and degrees granted. Both
documents are official; they include the Registrar's signature and are printed on special
security paper. The University of Illinois no longer imprints a raised seal on these documents.
Transcripts are released only by written request. Current and former students should review the
Admissions & Records Office website at www.oar.uiuc.edu
for detailed information about the request process. Transcript requests from currently enrolled
students should be made on the website. With respect to former students, transcripts are released
only by written request with the former student's signature. The request may be made on the website,
mailed, faxed, or submitted in person. Transcripts are usually mailed within two business days of
the request. Federal Express is available for an additional fee. Transcripts will not be emailed
or faxed.
Certifications may be requested without the student's signed release. Former students may call,
email, fax or write for enrollment or degree certification. Current students should place
their request via the website.
