'82 Scholars Fund

Download Brochure The '82 Scholars Fund is a unique and unprecedented opportunity for members of the University of Illinois College of Law Class of 1982 to join together to create a unique scholarship fund. The '82 Scholars Fund began with three of our classmates pledging to donate $ 35,000 each over three years. They reached out to a handful of additional classmates and three of them each pledged $ 35,000 and a few other classmates pledged much-appreciated lesser amounts. The fund now stands at $ 229,000 pledged. That puts us over 40% of the way toward our goal and we have just begun.

The University Provost has agreed to match any gift — individual or group — in excess of $ 150,000 for student scholarships and raised over a three-year period. The goal is to ask Class of 1982 graduates to make a three-year pledge toward the $ 500,000 goal. With the Provost's match, the overall goal of $ 1,000,000 in the '82 Scholars Fund will allow the College to provide two full-tuition or a combination of full and partial tuition scholarships to future students. This scholarship fund will provide an exceptional opportunity for Illinois to recruit head-to-head with the nation's premier law schools for the best and brightest students.

On Friday, October 26, the College will host an elegant evening Alumni Reception at a local country club leading up to the pre-game tailgate party on Saturday, October 27, located on Cribbet Field just east of the Law Building.
