Carrie Turner is the Interim Assistant Dean for Development and Alumni Relations, working primarily as a major gifts officer for the western half of the United States, portions of Illinois and Cook County. Carrie has 15 years of development experience, including planned giving, annual funds, special events and community fund-raising. She served as District Director, Divisional Field Representative, and Regional Director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association from 1993-2004, supervising 20 staff members in four offices and coordinating the 21-hour MDA "Labor Day Telethon" television broadcasts in Champaign, Peoria, Quincy, and Moline. Prior to joining the College, she was the Director of Development for the Krannert Art Museum at the University of Illinois. Carrie earned her B.A. from North Central College in 1989. She resides in Mahomet with her husband Dean, and two children. |

Marianne Downey

Marianne Downey is the Director of Development. She handles the Law School Annual Fund as well as focusing on major gift development in Illinois. In addition to securing philanthropic support to enhance the law school's mission, Marianne regularly assists alumni with networking, recruiting, and alumni relations opportunities. Prior to working in the Development & Alumni Relations Office at the College of Law, Marianne worked as the Director of Institutional Advancement at Cathedral High School, a private preparatory school in Indianapolis, IN., as the Director of Development for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Catholic Social Services and as the Midwest Regional Sales Manager for two consumer products companies. Marianne is a M.A. Candidate in Education Leadership at the University of Illinois and previously earned her B.S. in Business/Marketing, at Indiana University. She's earned a Certificate in Fundraising Management at Indiana University Center on Philanthropy and has successfully completed Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) re-certification three times. Marianne resides in Urbana with her husband Tyler and her stepdaughters Shelby and Elizabeth.

Meredith Olson

Meredith Olson is the Assistant to the Assistant Dean for Development & Alumni relations. She serves as the administrative support person for the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, focusing on gift processing, alumni research and stewardship activities. Acting as a resource to staff, alumni, students and friends of the College of Law, Meredith regularly coordinates alumni relations events and activities. Meredith is currently a graduate student at the University of Illinois College of Education, working on her Ed.M degree in Higher Education Administration. Prior to coming to Illinois for graduate school, Meredith studied in the Public Administration graduate program at DePaul University in Chicago, with experiences including study abroad courses in Dublin, Ireland and an internship in development with the University of Illinois College of Law. Meredith previously earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. |

Rebecca Vance

Rebecca "Buffy" Vance is the Assistant to Communications and Development. She is an administrative support person who serves as the liaison between the Offices of Communications and Development & Alumni Relations. Prior to joining the College of Law in 2007, Buffy worked as a Development Secretary for WILL AM-FM-TV, as well as serving various roles at Amdocs Inc. and Benefit Planning Consultants. She was sole-proprietor of Madeline's (Fine Pastries) in Urbana for many years, and is now an avid sugar art hobbyist |
