Law 794: Selected Topics in Bankruptcy

This course will be offered as either a 4-credit, year-long course, or a 2-credit, spring-semester course. Both can satisfy the upper-level writing requirement. Both are designed for students to do in-depth research on a selected topic, and to participate in tutorial sessions with the professor. Presentations will be made to the class in March and April for both the 4-credit and 2-credit sections. In the 4-credit course, students will be expected to write a 60-page paper, with the intent to submit the paper to law reviews for possible publication. In the fall semester, students in the 4-credit will read Tabb's "Bankruptcy Anthology." In the 2-credit course (spring only), students will write a 25-30 page paper. Limit is 15 students total for the two sections; preference is given to 4-credit students.

Bankruptcy (Law 629) is a prerequisite for the 2-credit section, and is a pre- or co-requisite for the year-long 4-credit class.
