Law 794: Financial Accounting for Lawyers

This two-credit course will provide a brief overview of financial accounting as it relates to the practice of law. Subjects covered include the key elements of financial statements and their interpretation, as well as valuation principles and techniques, and the role of independent auditors. There are no prerequisites because the course is intended for students without any business background. In fact, students with more than three credit hours of accounting may take this course for credit only with professor approval and subject to available space. Course grades will be based on an examination that will be given on the afternoon of the last day of the class.
