Law 793: Illinois Civil Procedure and Evidence

This course, taught by an Illinois Appellate Court Justice, will introduce you to the specifics of civil practice in Illinois. The procedural aspect of this course will include instruction on the many facets of Illinois pleading practice, discovery procedures, and dispositive motions. The evidentiary aspect will include instruction on Illinois evidentiary rules including relevance, foundation, opinion testimony, presumptions, hearsay, admissions, competency privileges, trial testimony, impeachment, objections and special relevancy issues.

Sequence and Prerequisites: Evidence (Law 682) is a prerequisite, or it may be taken concurrently.
