Law 610: Introduction to Advocacy

This course is a continuation of the first semester Legal Writing and Analysis course. Instruction focuses on persuasive writing and oral advocacy. Students write both a pre-trial memorandum and an appellate brief and conduct oral arguments. Students also participate in a negotiation exercise and draft a settlement agreement. This course meets twice a week. The third credit hour reflects the time spent outside of class on written assignments throughout the year.

Sequence and Prerequisites: Required in the first year, spring. Prerequisites: Legal Writing and Analysis and Legal Research.
